Licensing - Knowledge Test

 

If you have failed this test three times do not book a fourth Knowledge Test.

 

In order to become a new Hackney Carriage / Private Hire driver and be granted a Combined Driver's licence you must first pass the Knowledge Test.

The test consists of one paper and is split into the following three sections.

Geographical

In this section you will need to show that you know your way around the whole Borough of Charnwood and the surrounding areas and places of public interest.

Law

In this section you will need to show that you have a good understanding of the Council's Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing policy and the Charnwood Borough Council - Bye-Laws Hackney Carriages.

 Customer Care                                                  

In this section you will need to show that you have an understanding of the level of customer care that the Council expects you to deliver.
